Terms of Use
The legally binding terms that govern your access to and use of geomed.cc. By using the site you accept these terms, so please read them carefully.
Effective date: 25 October 2026. Last updated: 25 October 2026.
Please read these Terms of Use carefully. They contain important information about your legal rights, including limitations of our liability (section 15), your indemnity obligations (section 16) and how disputes are resolved (section 20). The information on this site is for general education only and is not medical advice (section 4).
1. Introduction and acceptance
1.1 These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and GeoMed ("GeoMed", "we", "us" or "our"), the operator of the website located at geomed.cc, including its subdomains, pages, content, tools, newsletter, comment features and any related services (together, the "Site").
1.2 By accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by the documents referred to in them, including our Medical Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Editorial Policy, Comment Policy and Copyright & Content Use page (together, the "Policies"), each of which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1.3 If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Site.
1.4 If you use the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" includes that organisation.
2. Definitions and interpretation
2.1 In these Terms:
- "Content" means all text, articles, disease, drug, test, procedure, anatomy, first aid and home care information, blog posts, summaries, structures, data, calculators, graphics, illustrations, photographs, logos, audio, video, software, code and other material available on the Site.
- "User Content" means any comment, message, suggestion, feedback or other material that you submit to or through the Site.
- "Third-Party Services" means websites, advertisements, services, software and content provided by persons other than GeoMed, including advertising served by Google.
- "Applicable Law" means all laws, regulations and binding rules that apply to you, to us or to the use of the Site.
2.2 Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. Words such as "including" and "for example" are illustrative and do not limit the general words that precede them. References to a law include that law as amended or replaced.
3. Eligibility
3.1 The Site is intended for a general audience seeking health education. You may browse the Site at any age, but if you are under the age of legal majority in your country, you should use the Site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
3.2 You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 years old where Applicable Law requires a higher age for consent to data processing) to submit a comment, send a message or subscribe to the newsletter.
3.3 You may not use the Site if you are prohibited from doing so under Applicable Law.
4. No medical advice
4.1 The Content is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute medical, pharmaceutical, nursing, psychological, nutritional or other professional advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it must not be used as a substitute for such advice.
4.2 Your use of the Site does not create a doctor-patient, pharmacist-patient, therapist-client or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and GeoMed or any writer, reviewer or contributor.
4.3 Always seek the advice of a physician, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare provider with any question about a medical condition, symptom, test result, medicine or treatment. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read on the Site. Do not start, stop or change any medicine or treatment on the basis of the Content.
4.4 If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
4.5 The Site deliberately does not provide individual medicine doses. Dosing must be determined by a qualified prescriber or pharmacist and the official product information.
4.6 Calculators, tools and estimators provide approximate results based on general formulas. They are not diagnostic devices and must not be relied on for clinical decisions.
4.7 The Medical Disclaimer forms part of these Terms. If there is any conflict between the Medical Disclaimer and these Terms in relation to medical information, the provision that gives greater protection to GeoMed applies to the extent permitted by law.
5. Accuracy of Content
5.1 We take care to make the Content accurate and current, and health Content is subject to editorial checks and medical review as described in our Editorial Policy. However, medical knowledge evolves, guidance differs between countries and errors may occur.
5.2 We do not warrant that any Content is accurate, complete, current, reliable or applicable to your circumstances or jurisdiction. Content may describe uses, products or services that are not approved, available or appropriate where you live.
5.3 We may correct, update, remove or archive Content at any time without notice.
6. Licence to use the Site
6.1 Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to access and view the Site and to download or print individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
6.2 Any rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by GeoMed and its licensors.
7. Acceptable use
7.1 You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to, permit or help any other person to:
- (a) use the Site for any purpose that is unlawful, fraudulent, harmful or prohibited by these Terms;
- (b) access, probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any part of the Site, its servers or networks, or the content management system, or breach any security or authentication measure;

- (f) use any Content to develop, train, fine-tune, test, evaluate or improve any artificial intelligence, machine learning or large language model system, or to build any dataset or database, without our prior written permission;
- (g) frame, mirror or embed the Site or any Content in another website or application, or remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice;

7.2 We may investigate any suspected breach of this section, cooperate with law enforcement authorities and take any action we consider appropriate, including suspending access, removing User Content and pursuing legal remedies.
8. Intellectual property
8.1 The Site and the Content, including its selection, arrangement, structure and design, are owned by GeoMed or its licensors and are protected by copyright, database rights, trademark and other intellectual property laws throughout the world.
8.2 "GeoMed", the GeoMed logo and related names, logos and designs are trademarks of GeoMed. You may not use them without our prior written permission, including in any way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation.
8.3 Certain images and materials are used under public domain dedications or open licences, including Creative Commons licences. Such materials remain subject to their own licence terms, which prevail over these Terms in respect of those materials. Attribution is provided in the "Image credits" section of the relevant article where required.
8.4 Names of medicines, devices, organisations and products referred to on the Site may be trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. Their use does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.
9. User Content
9.1 You are solely responsible for your User Content. By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
- (a) you own it or have all rights necessary to submit it and to grant the licence below;
- (b) it is accurate where it states facts, and is not misleading;
- (c) it does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights of any person;
- (d) it complies with these Terms, our Comment Policy and Applicable Law;
- (e) it does not contain the personal or health information of any other person without their consent.
9.2 You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant GeoMed a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, publish, display, moderate, edit for length, clarity or legal compliance, translate and distribute your User Content in connection with the Site and its promotion, in any media. To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights in your User Content in relation to such uses.
9.3 All comments are moderated before publication. We are under no obligation to publish, retain or monitor User Content, and we may refuse, edit or remove any User Content at any time and for any reason.
9.4 User Content reflects the views of its author, not of GeoMed, and is not medically reviewed. We are not responsible or liable for any User Content.
9.5 If you submit ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction and without any obligation to you.
10. Newsletter and communications
10.1 If you subscribe to our newsletter, you consent to receive periodic emails from GeoMed. You may unsubscribe at any time by contacting us through the contact page or by using any unsubscribe mechanism provided in our emails.
10.2 By contacting us, you agree that we may reply to you by email. Communications from us do not constitute medical advice.
11. Advertising
11.1 The Site is supported by advertising, including advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners. Advertisements are selected by the advertising provider and not by GeoMed's editorial team.
11.2 The display of an advertisement on the Site does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee by GeoMed of any product, service, treatment, provider or claim. You should evaluate any advertised product or service independently and consult a healthcare professional before acting on health-related advertising.
11.3 Your dealings with advertisers, including payment and delivery of goods or services and any terms, conditions, warranties or representations, are solely between you and the advertiser. GeoMed is not responsible for any loss or damage arising from such dealings.
11.4 The use of cookies and personal data for advertising is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
12. Third-Party Services and links
12.1 The Site may contain links to, or content from, Third-Party Services. We do not control, endorse or assume responsibility for any Third-Party Service, and your use of any Third-Party Service is at your own risk and subject to its own terms and policies.
12.2 You may link to the home page or any article of the Site, provided you do so fairly and lawfully, do not damage our reputation or take advantage of it, and do not suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement that does not exist. We may withdraw linking permission at any time.
13. Availability, changes and security
13.1 We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or any part of the Site, or restrict access to it, at any time and without notice or liability.
13.2 We do not guarantee that the Site will be available at all times, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free from errors, viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for configuring your devices and using your own virus protection software.
13.3 We may perform maintenance, updates and security measures that temporarily affect availability.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
14.1 To the fullest extent permitted by Applicable Law, the Site and all Content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
14.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or condition that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
15.1 To the fullest extent permitted by Applicable Law, in no event will GeoMed, its owners, officers, employees, writers, medical reviewers, contractors, licensors or partners be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, or for any personal injury, illness or health outcome, arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the Site, the Content, User Content, advertisements or Third-Party Services, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
15.2 To the fullest extent permitted by Applicable Law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Site will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
15.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Applicable Law. If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights that cannot be waived, and nothing in these Terms affects those rights.
16. Indemnity
16.1 To the fullest extent permitted by Applicable Law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless GeoMed and its owners, officers, employees, writers, reviewers, contractors and licensors from and against all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your User Content; (c) your misuse of the Site; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
17. Suspension and termination
17.1 We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Site, block comments or newsletter subscriptions, or remove User Content, at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if required by law.
17.2 Sections 4, 5, 8, 9.2, 9.4, 11.2, 11.3, 14, 15, 16, 20 and 21, and any other provision that by its nature should survive, will survive termination.
18. Privacy
18.1 Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
19. Changes to these Terms
19.1 We may amend these Terms at any time by publishing the revised version on the Site. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the Terms were last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site where reasonably practicable.
19.2 Changes take effect when published, unless stated otherwise. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Site.
20. Governing law and disputes
20.1 These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Site (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by the laws of the country in which GeoMed's operator is established, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
20.2 Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to contact us through the contact page and to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
20.3 Subject to section 20.4, the courts of the country in which GeoMed's operator is established have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved informally.
20.4 If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country where Applicable Law grants you that right.
20.5 To the extent permitted by Applicable Law, any claim must be brought individually and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective or representative proceeding, and must be commenced within one year after the cause of action arose.
21. General provisions
21.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and the Policies constitute the entire agreement between you and GeoMed regarding the Site and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
21.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible or modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
21.3 No waiver. Our failure or delay in exercising any right or remedy is not a waiver of it, and no single or partial exercise of any right prevents its further exercise.
21.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets.
21.5 Force majeure. We will not be liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labour disputes, power or internet failures, cyber attacks, actions of hosting or network providers, or acts of government.
21.6 No third-party rights. Except as expressly stated, no person other than you and GeoMed has any right to enforce any of these Terms.
21.7 Relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, agency or employment relationship between you and GeoMed.
21.8 Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only, and the English version prevails in case of conflict.
21.9 Notices. We may give you notice by posting it on the Site or, if you have provided an email address, by email. You may give us notice through the contact page.
